The perfect late-night dip with crisps

Some evenings call for something easy and indulgent —a snack that feels special but takes almost no effort. That’s where this creamy, savory dip comes in. It’s a simple blend of light crème fraîche, fresh lemon juice, aromatic dill, and finely chopped red onion. The result? A luxuriously smooth and tangy dip with crisps and veggies. Lately, crudités have been widely discussed on a popular food and lifestyle program, but this is my personal version—a no-fuss, extra-creamy dip that’s perfect for casual snacking.

One evening, while scrolling through Instagram, I saw a similar dip that looked so fresh and delicious. I knew I had to try it—but with my own twist. I decided to add my favorite vegetables, making it heartier and even more satisfying. Since then, this dip has become my go-to meal when I’m too lazy to cook dinner. It’s my little indulgence during my alone-time slot, those rare quiet moments when the kids and my husband are out at activities.

Ingredients:
3-4 tbsp of light crème fraîche
fresh lemon juice from half a lemon
2 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
2 tbsp red onion, finely chopped
Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional for serving:
  • Salted crisps
  • Sweet paprika slices
  • Carrot sticks
  • Small gherkins
Method:
  1. In a bowl, mix together the crème fraîche, lemon juice, dill.
  2. Season with salt and black pepper to taste and sprinkle over the chopped red onion.
  3. Let the dip sit for 5–10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Serve with salted crisps and fresh vegetables for dipping.

One of the best things about this dip is how effortless it is to put together. Just stir the ingredients together, let the flavors meld for a few minutes, and you have the perfect snack for lazy evenings.

Enjoy!

Game Night Snack: A Refreshing Dill and Seaweed Caviar Dip

With so much sports action happening on TV lately, it’s the perfect time to enjoy some delicious snacks while you cheer for your favorite team. One of my absolute favorites during these busy game nights is a simple yet flavorful dip that never disappoints. It’s quick to make, refreshing, and pairs perfectly with lightly salted crisps. Trust me, this is a winner whether you’re hosting a game night or just treating yourself!

Here’s what you’ll need:
  • Light crème fraîche
  • One lime
  • Fresh dill
  • Seaweed caviar (tångkaviar)
  • Chopped onions (preferably red for extra flavor)
To whip this up, start by spreading a generous layer of crème fraîche over half of a plate or shallow dish. Next, spoon on the seaweed caviar, scatter the chopped onions, and sprinkle a handful of fresh dill over the top. The final touch? Squeeze the juice from a fresh lime across the dip for that zesty kick. Serve it with lightly salted crisps, and you’re good to go!

The combination of the creamy crème fraîche, briny seaweed caviar, and the sharpness of the onion and lime creates a dip that’s fresh, tangy, and totally irresistible. The lightly salted crisps add the perfect crunch, making it a snack that’s ideal for game night, a quick bite between matches, or even as a starter before dinner.

It’s simple, it’s tasty, and best of all, it’s ready in minutes.

Enjoy!

My Guacamole Obsession - Recipe

During my last pregnancy, if there's one craving I couldn't resist, it's guacamole. I found myself indulging in it several evenings a week—it became my ultimate go-to snack, both for me and my hubby.

Whip it up easily once the kids were asleep, and there's nothing quite like serving it chilled with crispy tortilla chips.

When it comes to recipes like guacamole, I always tend to put my own twist to it. Here's my take on this classic favorite.

Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
2 tomatoes
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 tbsp Greek yogurt
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 mild green chilli
lemon juice
salt and pepper

Method:
Chop up the tomatoes and parsley, then add them to a bowl. Scoop out the avocado and lightly mash it with a fork in the same bowl. Add lemon juice to prevent browning. Mix well and add the yogurt, along with seasoning to taste.

Chill the mixture in the fridge for 15 minutes, then serve it with tortilla chips.

Fake aoli with lemon - recipe

Today's culinary adventure took us to Lidl for a quick grocery run after a fun-filled day at the playground. While the kids clamored for chips and meatballs, my craving led me to indulge in calamari and aioli. With little time to spare, I had to get creative and whip up a faux aioli that turned out to be a delightful surprise. Even the little one couldn't resist dipping their chips in it and gave it their seal of approval!

Ingredients:
2 tbsp creme fraiche
1 tbsp mayo
Dash of lemon pepper mix
Salt and pepper
Paprika powder
Lemon juice

Method:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the creme fraiche, mayonnaise, lemon pepper seasoning, salt, pepper, paprika powder, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Mix everything until well combined, adjusting the seasoning to your taste preferences.

2. Chill the aioli in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Pair this creamy delight with freshly cooked calamari for a burst of flavor and texture.

Feel free to adjust the spices according to your liking, and get ready to be pleasantly surprised by the creamy goodness of this quick and easy aioli.

Enjoy!

Guacamole with creme fraiche - recipe

I bought a net of avocados at Lidl thinking baby will like it. But he spat it out no matter what I mixed it with. So I forget them in the fridge. After few days I saw them and decided to use them up. They were perfectly ripen and perfect for a guacamole. To make it a healthier option, I used crisp flat bread instead of tortilla crisps. Equally yummi!

Ingredients:
4-5 small ripe avocados
2-3 tbsp creme fraiche
Handful chopped fresh parsley
1 ripe tomato, chopped
Juice from 1 lemon
Seasoning to taste: salt, garlic powder, cumin, paprika

Method:
1. Cut out the avocado flesh and mash it with a fork in a wide bowl. Press the lemon juice over it, to prevent the avocados to become brown. Add the creme fraiche and mix well.

2. Chopp the parsley and tomato finely and add it to the bowl. Season it with the spices to taste. Mix well and cover with plastic foil and keep it in the fridge.

3. Serve with crisp flat bread or tortilla chips. I made the flat bread crispier by putting it in the toaster for few seconds. Be careful not to burn it though.

Enjoy!
